Parking is available at the boat launch lot at the southeast corner of Huron Parkway and Geddes Road. It is only a few steps to the exhibit.
Plan to arrive at 10:45 a.m., for the 11:00 tour time.
This is a Covid friendly, outdoor event. Masks are not required.
Sixty billboard-size art banners done by local artists and artists from all over the world have been created reflecting the artists' interpretations of the theme "enriching our lives through diversity". Titled "Embracing Our Differences," the exhibit has the vision of a society that embraces differences, builds respect and celebrates the diversity of the human family. The project uses the transformative power of art and words to spark discussions on our differences: race, sex, LBGTQ, mental and physical differences to open our heart to embrace diversity.
The beautiful and insightful artworks are installed at Gallup Park and Leslie Science Center in Ann Arbor and Riverside and Parkridge Community Center in Ypsilanti. The art is on display from May 14- Sept. 30. Our tour will focus on the banners displayed at Gallup Park in the open area near the Butterfly Garden.
