July 13, 2022
Instructor: Marilynn Thomas
AWS, TWSA, and MWCS signature member
This workshop provides basic watercolor instruction, learning to mix and apply watercolor to paper, learning to use the white of the paper instead of using white paint as one does in Acrylic and Oil Painting. You will also learn how to fix mistakes easily.
The workshop will take place in the Collective's new space located at trustArt Studios at 7885 Jackson Road, Suite 1, Ann Arbor, MI 48118. Suggested supply list below.
Member fee is $45
Public fee is $60
The supply list is basic:
Large brush, around # 8 - 10, and a smaller brush, possibly a #3 for details.
Pencil or pen to trace the lesson onto watercolor paper and an eraser.
Student or artist grade set of watercolors, including yellow, red (alizarin crimson), one or 2 greens, a brown (burnt sienna) and ultramarine blue, since we will be mixing the black feather areas from burnt sienna and the ultramarine rather than using a solid black.
Paper towels, a board (plexi, masonite, cardboard, etc,) to tape the watercolor paper to.
Xacto knife is handy also.
Blue painter’s tape if you have it; I can supply some if you don’t.
One or two containers for water, and you’re set!
