Barbara Melnik Carson is a sculptor who grew up in Southwest Detroit.
Formerly a pickle packer, theater major, crisis counselor and occupational therapist, she eventually realized she has always been an artist.
Barbara, who has Ukrainian ancestry, is self-taught. Her art is now in collections around the world and exhibited throughout the United States and Canada. In 2019, she completed a three month artist residency at the Lviv National Academy of Arts in Ukraine. Most recently her sculptures were shown at the 2019 SOFA expo in Chicago, sponsored by Women Made Gallery, and she regularly exhibits at the River's Edge Gallery in Wyandotte, MI.
Barbara continues to explore new ideas and techniques. She also teaches and accepts commissions.
